Submission Guidelines
The 17th Asia-Pacific Conference on Giftedness (APCG) brings together researchers, academicians, professionals, teachers, policy makers, industry experts, and members from professional bodies to submit abstracts of their papers to be eligible to present at the conference.
The theme of this conference is “Embracing Diversity, Blooming Talents”, emphasizing on the increasing importance of nurturing the rich dimensions of diversity and talents within each individual.
There is no limit on the number of abstract submissions per person, but authors who submit two or more papers/posters are reminded to make sure they are substantially diferent. All submission must be made in English through the online submission platform (you need to first create an account). No submission will be accepted via email.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
How to Submit
- Please submit your abstract online. After you have submitted your abstract, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your submission.
- Submit your abstract of no more than 300 words. The primary language of the conference is English, and your submission should be submitted in English.
- Your abstract will undergo a double blind peer review by the international scientific committee. The organizing committee chair will be heading the scientific committee and she will make the final decisions with regards to the abstracts.
- You will receive a response either accepting or rejecting your paper. You may also receive reviewer comments or be given an opportunity to revise your abstract. Should you be given the chance to revise your abstract, you will be required to do so within one week.
- It is normally assumed that the first author of an accepted abstract is the primary presenter. For all accepted presentations with two or more authors, the co-authors who want to present together with the first author will need to register before May 31, 2022.
- The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the papers’ publication has been approved by all other co-authors and takes responsibility for the paper during submission and peer review. The organizer/publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.
Abstract Submission Process
The online abstract submission system will need you to provide the following details:
- Title (word limit is 20)
- Presentation type (oral, poster)
- Theme must be chosen that fits within the aforementioned topics of interest
- Target audience (parents, policy makers, practitioners, psychologists, researchers, students, teachers)
- Name, position, and affiliation of presenting author
- Name, position, and affiliation of co-author(s)
- Indicate the presenting author as requested
- Abstract word limit is 300, excluding title, authors, and affiliations, and 3-6 keywords
Only WORD files will be accepted for upload. Graphs and tables may not be included in the abstract.
KEY DATES:
- Abstract submission deadline: April 15, 2022
- Abstract acceptance notification will be sent on May 12, 2022
- Deadline for presenting author(s) registration: May 31, 2022

Paper Presentation Instructions
- Oral presentation time is 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions.
For Physical Presentation
- Each session room will be equipped with a LCD projector, screen, microphone, and a presentation laptop with general presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you plan to use your own laptop or smart device, please try the connection and make sure it works before your presentation session begins.
- All PowerPoint presentations must be pre-loaded well on to session computers prior to the session. Be sure to bring a backup copy of your presentation with you to the conference.
- Please be ready to present before the session begins, introduce yourself to the session chair, and make sure that the chair knows how to pronounce your name.
For Virtual Presentation
- To present your research as a virtual oral presenter, please submit a pre-recorded 15-minute (maximum) oral presentation that will be played to the audiences in the scheduled session during the online conference. Please refer to "Pre-Recorded Video and File Submission" below for more information.
- During the scheduled time the presenter should be online for presenting and answering questions raised by the audiences.
- Pre-recorded video submission details will be available in early 2022. Deadline for pre-recorded video submission is June 15, 2022.
- Please enter the online scheduled presentation room 15 minutes before the start of the session.
Poster Presentation Instructions
- Poster presentation time is 5 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions.
- All posters must be presented in English. The recommended poster size is A0 size (84.1 x 118.9cm; 33.1 x 46.8 inches) in portrait style.
For Physical and Virtual Presentation
- To present your research, please submit a poster in PDF file and a pre-recorded 5-minute (maximum) oral presentation that will be played to the audiences in the scheduled session during the online conference. Please refer to "Pre-Recorded Video and File Submission" below for more information.
- During the scheduled time the presenter should be onsite/online for answering questions raised by the audiences.
- Deadline for pre-recorded video submission is June 15, 2022.
- Please enter the online scheduled presentation room 15 minutes before the start of the session.
Pre-Recorded Video and File Submission
- Title of the summited video/file should be: Paper ID_Abstract title

- Please upload the video to YouTube, and share the link with APCG team via email (apcgtaipei2022@gmail.com) You may change the privacy setting to “unlisted video”, by doing so, the video can only be seen and shared by people with the link.
- Presenters should play the video or open files during the conference by themselves. However, when the presenter is having trouble with it due to internet connection failure, the video or file will be played/opened by APCG team.
- For poster presentation, please upload the PDF file of the poster to https://www.dropbox.com/request/4HE8BuaTz5HX7U3HiI6L (required) Oral presenters may also upload the presentation slides to the above link (optional) Please note that all files should be opened by the presenters themselves, submitting the files to APCG team is only as a backup plan when unpredicted situations happen.
Best Paper/Poster Awards
- The Organizing Committee offers two Best Paper Presentation Awards and two Best Poster Presentation Awards to recognize exceptional presentations at the Conference.
- There will be two round of selections. Six of the abstracts from the papers and posters will be selected in the first round of selection. The selected six papers and posters will then be reviewed by two judges during the paper/poster presentation sessions.
- The award winner will receive award certificate in the closing ceremony.
SHORT PAPER SUBMISSION
- Short paper submission is only necessary for the need of including in the proceedings.
- Deadline for short paper submission is May 31, 2022.
How to Submit
- Please submit your short paper online.
- Submit your short paper of no more than 2000 words (in Word format). The primary language of the conference is English, and your submission should be submitted in English.
- Submit English Editing Certificate (in PDF format), indicating that the manuscript is grammatically correct, coherently written, and formatted correctly.
